Individuals who teach for UCSB Professional and Continuing Education have been chosen based on the following criteria:

• Professional experience
• Academic preparation
• Teaching ability

The majority of instructors are working professionals who teach on a part-time basis, although full-time UC faculty and other college and university faculty also teach professional and continuing education courses. On occasion, and for reasons beyond the division's control, last-minute instructor changes may occur.

Open University Courses
The campus academic departments appoint UCSB instructors. On occasion, departments will appoint different instructors from those listed on the Schedule of Classes.
