What should I do if I wish to withdraw from the quarter and return home?
You do have the option to withdraw from our program. If you wish to do so, please complete the Request Form and select the option you are leaving the program. Once the UCSB International Advisor/ DSO receive your request, we will drop you from our program and cancel your I20. Please review our Refund Policies to see if you are entitlted of a refund.
If you are enrolled in an academic course, you must request to drop the course. If you are requesting after the drop period is over, you must submit the Petition for Late or Retroactive drop, so the UCSB PaCE Office of Registrar will review it. If approved, a withdrawal (W) grade will be assigned to the the course, indicating that you have received permission to drop a course after the drop deadline. Withdrawal (W) Grade is assigned to the transcript. No course refunds are issued for course withdrawals.
If the petition is NOT approved or you did not request a Petition for Late or Retroactive drop, and you leave a grade F or NP, it will be recorded in your transcript.
You must then leave the U.S. within 15 days of your last day in the US. Please understand you will not receive a grade for any work you have completed this quarter one withdrawing. Furthermore, you will receive an “F” if you fail to turn in the appropriate withdrawal paperwork.
