Can I enroll in more than 12-unit courses?
Yes, you can enroll in more courses if you want to. However, the University Immersion Program (UIP) includes a total of 12 academic and/or professional units. This requirement is typically fulfilled by completing three courses or 12 units, whichever comes first, during the duration of the program.
Should you choose to enroll in additional academic units beyond the 12-unit requirement or more than three courses, the following fee structure applies:
-
Undergraduate/Graduate Courses:
-
Any additional academic course units beyond the 12 required units will incur additional costs. These will be charged at the standard Open University fee rates applicable for the quarter in which you are enrolled.
-
-
Professional Courses:
-
Enrollment in any professional courses beyond the required 12 units will be charged the full course fee of the additional professional course.
-
Important Considerations
-
Unit Load Management: It is recommended that students carefully consider their unit load to balance academic performance with the immersion experience.
-
Payment of Additional units or 4th course: Any additional fees for extra units or courses must be paid upon enrollment. Students will not be enrolled after reaching 12 units in their schedule. They must contact the CSO team to confirm the enrollment of the additional units or courses.
-
Academic Performance: Students are expected to maintain satisfactory academic progress in all enrolled courses to remain in good standing in the UIP.
