Course Delivery Modes
At UCSB Professional and Continuing Education we have 5 distinct delivery modes for our courses:
In-class courses meet face-to-face in a classroom setting, at the UCSB Campus or in other locations: details are provided on the course page.
Online Live lectures are delivered in real-time via Zoom or similar videoconferencing software. Other course materials are hosted by Canvas, UCSB's online course management system, or similar learning environments.
HyFlex combines delivery via Zoom or similar videoconferencing software with in-person accessibility. Attend the course either on location, or attend remotely in real-time at your convenience.
Online on Demand
Online on Demand lectures are hosted by Canvas, UCSB's online course management system, or similar learning environments. All materials are available on demand.
Hybrid courses meet face to face in a classroom during scheduled sessions. Participation also requires online interaction outside regularly scheduled sessions. Course materials are hosted by Canvas, UCSB's online course management system or similar learning environment, and available on demand.
Online Blended courses have both live and on-demand elements. Students will be expected to participate during the scheduled real-time sessions via Zoom, or similar video conference software, in addition to completion of self-paced activities such as pre-recorded videos and discussion boards which will be hosted by Canvas, UCSB's online course management system or a similar learning environment.
