The BACB establishes the eligibility requirements for BCBA certification, including requirements related to graduate-level education, behavior-analytic coursework, supervised fieldwork, and the BCBA examination.

UCSB PaCE establishes the requirements for completion of its ABA program and Professional Certificate. As a result, UCSB PaCE may require courses that are not specifically required by the BACB for certification eligibility.

Students pursuing BCBA certification should therefore distinguish between:

  • courses required to satisfy BACB Pathway 2 coursework requirements, and
  • courses required to complete the UCSB PaCE ABA Professional Certificate.

Please review the chart below for a comparison of BACB coursework requirements and UCSB PaCE ABA program requirements.
