Asynchronous Online Format

• All courses in the program are offered in an interactive online format.
• Course materials are posted on Canvas, UCSB’s online learning management system. All assignments and interactions with the instructor will occur through this online system.
• Within a few hours after enrolling in a PaCE course but no sooner than 60 days before the beginning of the course, you will receive an email from our online learning platform, UCSB Canvas, with instructions on how to complete your Canvas registration and access your online course. You don’t need to take any action until you receive that email.
• The course Syllabus will be posted approximately 2 weeks before the first day of class. The remaining course material will be available to students starting on the first day of class.
• Courses are 10 weeks long, plus finals week, with a scheduled start date and an end date. During this time you will engage online with lectures, videos, readings, and with each other through an online discussion forum. There is no specific time that you need to be online. Instead, you will complete assignments at your convenience, but by a specific due date. Anticipate to spend between 3-5 hours per week.
