Discounts

UC Santa Barbara Division of Professional and Continuing Education has several discount opportunities that are available for students. However, discounts may only be used one at a time (discounts may not be combined). Please always check the course/program page for specific discount policy stipulations and deadlines.

Early Bird Discount

A $50 discount is given to students who pre-enroll before the early bird date listed on each designated 3 or 4 unit course. If you enroll online, be sure to click on the "Early Bird Discount" button. To qualify, enrollment must be paid in full by the early bird fee deadline, the 15th of the month before the beginning of the quarter. Early Bird Deadlines for each quarter:

  • Fall: September 15
  • Winter: December 15
  • Spring: March 15
  • Summer: June 15

Group Discount

Companies or employers who enroll and pay for four or more participants in the same professional development course at the same time may receive a 15% discount off the standard enrollment fee. Please see the list below for courses which are excluded from this discount. Online enrollment is not available for group affiliation discounts. To receive your discount, please send an email with your phone number and email to help@professional.ucsb.edu. A member of our Customer Support team will contact you to arrange a convenient time to assist with enrollment. The discount must be requested at the time of enrollment and will not be applied retroactively. If the number of students enrolled using the discount drops below three, standard fees will apply. Certain courses, such as those that include computer lab activities or charge for textbooks and/or materials may be excluded from this policy.

UCSB Undergraduate and Graduate Students Discount

UCSB matriculated Undergraduate and Graduate students are eligible for a 25% discount on PaCE professional courses (exclusions apply, please see list below). This discount is only available if a UCSB student is officially registered and until a UCSB student graduates from UCSB. If the preferred course starts after the student graduates from UCSB, then the student is not eligible to receive this discount. As with other discounts, this discount is not stackable with any other promotions or discounts. 

Please do not self-enroll if you want to take advantage of this discount. 

In order to receive this discount, you will need to first fill out and submit this Application. If your Application is approved, you will receive an email with a discount code which you will use when enrolling in your preferred course/s. This discount code is valid for the current academic year (Fall to Summer) only. A new Application will need to be submitted for each new academic year.

UC Alumni Association Members and Retirees/Emeriti Discount

The Alumni Associations of the University of California (AAUC) offer members a 15% discount on professional course fees and academic courses offered by main campus. A 25% discount is also available to all UC Retirees and Emeriti. Please see the list below for courses which are excluded from this discount. The discount must be requested at the time of enrollment and will not be applied retroactively. Online enrollment is not available to alumni, retirees, emeriti and affiliates who wish to use this discount and discounts are taken off the standard course fee. UCSB Employee Discount

Employee discount on professional course fees and academic courses offered by main campus are provided to university staff and faculty in order to encourage campus employee professional and personal development.  Please see the list below for courses which are excluded from this discount.

UCSB faculty and staff who are employed at least 50% time in career positions are eligible to receive a 25% discount. In addition, spouses, domestic partners (as defined by UCSB for employee benefits), parents, and children of eligible faculty and staff may receive a 15% discount. Discounts must be requested at the time of enrollment (a copy of the staff ID card must accompany the enrollment), and will not be applied retroactively. Self-enrollment is not available to students wishing to use this discount. In order to receive the UCSB employee discount, the following must occur:

  1. Faculty and staff must provide proof of eligibility by sending a copy of a current UCSB staff card and a photo ID to help@professional.ucsb.edu. A member of our Customer Support Team will then contact you to assist with enrollment and payment.
  2. Departments paying fees through a recharge must contact UCSB Professional and Continuing Education (PaCE) to confirm the Department recharge account and the person authorizing the recharge prior to enrollment.
