When and how can I enroll in UCSB Academic courses?

You can enroll in three academic courses during the enrollment period for each quarter. Please note that there is no opportunity to enroll in courses before your arrival on campus. During the first 3 weeks of the quarter, students visit the classes they want to take. You can only start the enrollment on your first day of the quarter. Enrollments must be submitted in person. For the correct contact for each department, please review the list here

When the form is completed, come to the UCSB PaCE Office to submit it. Because you pay a per-quarter flat tuition fee, there will be no individual course payments.

Enrollment Process

  1. Search for UCSB Academic courses in the quarter of study.
  2. On your first day of class, come to Kerr Hall 2160 and pick up your OU Enrollment form.
  3. Audit the class and politely request approval from the professor or an academic advisor. Keep in mind that classes may be full or on waitlists, which could result in your enrollment request being denied.
  4. Return the signed form to Kerr Hall, 2160, whether approved or denied.
  5. Our Customer Service team will enroll you in the course and give you the "Canvas Form".

Important Note:

Only after our Customer Service Team confirms your enrollment can you take the Canvas Form to the professor so you can be added to the course. Please do not ask the professor to add you to Canvas if your enrollment is not approved. If you have never logged into Canvas before, please log in to Canvas first, using your UCSBNetID and password.

Final Reminder: Enrollment in courses is based on availability, and spaces are not guaranteed.
