DUO multi-factor-authentication (MFA) required to access Canvas and other applications like Google Workspace

UCSB requires Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) in order to use services like:

• Canvas - our online course system
• Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, etc.)
• Other UCSB online services

On May 7th, 2025, UCSB implemented changes to Duo MFA. Please follow these instructions.

If you have questions or need help in enrolling in DUO, submit a ticket at ithelp.ucsb.edu under the "End User Services" tab, then "Access and Accounts" or call UCSB CITS Service Desk at (805) 893-5000. IT Services Support hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. PST, Monday through Friday.
