UCSB International Programs Policies

Students who enroll in our program must acknowledge UCSB International Programs Policies when submitting their application.

APPLICATION
Enrollment in the program is not guaranteed until all admission requirements are met and the full tuition fee for each quarter of study is paid. It is acknowledged that the necessary financial resources are possessed, and full responsibility for covering the estimated program fees and living expenses for each quarter of study at UCSB International is accepted.


ENROLLMENT

Enrollment in academic courses at the UCSB main campus is not guaranteed. Limited space availability may be present in some courses. Finalization of enrollment in UCSB academic courses is required by the third week of each quarter. The following departments at UCSB's main campus are considered 'impacted.' Enrollment in courses within these departments may be limited, or less-preferred courses may be assigned to you depending on availability: Computer Science (CMPSC), Economics (ECON), and Statistics and Applied Probability (PSTAT).

 

ACADEMIC STANDARDS

For Undergraduate and Graduate Courses: Students must have an overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.7 (B-) or higher, and no more than one grade of B- or lower may be received in graduate courses. If these standards are not maintained, Academic Probation or Disqualification may be applied for the following quarter.

For Professional Studies/English Language courses (UCSB PaCE): No more than two C- or No Credit (NC) grades may be received. If this standard is not maintained, Academic Probation or Disqualification may be enacted for the following quarter.

UNITS OF CREDIT PER QUARTER
As an F1 student visa holder coming to UCSB International Programs, students must maintain a minimum of:

  • 8 units in graduate courses, or
  • 12 units in undergraduate and/or professional courses; or
  • 12 units in a combination of one graduate and undergraduate and/or professional courses must be enrolled in each quarter.

 

Release & License to Use Photo and Video
Students will have the option to grant by the undersigned to the Regents of the University of California (“University”) to use, exploit, adapt, modify, reproduce, distribute, publicly perform, and display the Material specified in this Release & License as identified above (the “Materials”), throughout the world, by incorporating them into publications, catalogues, brochures, books, magazines, photo exhibits, motion picture films, videotapes, and/or other media (the “Works”) or commercial, informational, educational, advertising, or promotional materials related thereto. 


 Any and all claims for invasion of privacy, right of publicity, copyright infringement, defamation, or other causes of action arising out of the use, exploitation, reproduction, adaptation, distribution, broadcast, performance, or display of the Materials are released, and the University, its agents, employees, licensees, and assigns (collectively, “Released Entities”) shall be indemnified, defended, and held harmless from these claims. Any lawsuit or cause of action against the Released Entities based upon, arising out of, or otherwise relating to the Materials, including any cause of action relating to copyright infringement, shall also be indemnified, defended, and held harmless. 


 Any right to inspect or approve any Works created using the Materials is waived, along with any claim regarding the eventual use to which the Materials may be applied. It is understood that the University shall be the exclusive owner of all rights, titles, and interests, including copyright, in the Works and any commercial, informational, educational, advertising, or promotional materials containing the Materials. It is confirmed that the undersigned is of full legal age, has read this release, and is thoroughly familiar with its contents.

 

HOUSING
It is understood that finding housing accommodations is the responsibility of the student. UCSB Housing resources and personal searches will be used to find a suitable place to reside.

 

PAYMENT INFORMATION
Full tuition fees for each desired quarter of study must be paid upon confirmation of acceptance to the program.

 

APPLICATION FEE
  It is understood that the application will not be reviewed until the payment of a $210 non-refundable application fee has been received. To process payment, the SUBMIT APPLICATION option should be clicked. 

 

Application Fee payment options: 
- Credit/Debit Card - the next page should be followed to input card information.
- Flywire - the next page should be followed, and payment via Flywire, our online wire transfer service, should be chosen. If this method is used, an email to help@extension.ucsb.edu should be sent to confirm payment.
