Open University Late Enrollment Procedures

You are responsible for enrolling in professional courses prior to the start date of the course. However, there are some exceptions that will be granted in rare and specific circumstances. 

Open University Courses

You are responsible for enrolling in regular session UCSB courses by the established enrollment deadline.

If you want to enroll after the deadline, submit the following to UCSB Professional and Continuing Education:

• A completed Open University Course Petition for Late or Retroactive Enrollment
• Required administrative fee
• A written statement explaining the circumstances causing you to miss the deadline

Exceptions to the published enrollment deadline will be granted only in very unusual and compelling circumstances. The permission to enroll after the deadline can only be granted by UCSB Professional and Continuing Education.
